 THE WICKLIFFE HARVEST FESTIVAL 2009

The Wickliffe Harvest Festival will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, September 11, 12, and 13!  This is the 56th annual Harvest Festival, the event having begun in 1954 when we roped off U. S. Highway 51 and threw a big festival in front of the Ballard County Courthouse!  The Festival continued for many years on the Courthouse lawn.  Now the Festival is in the Wickliffe City Park, just off Hwy. 121, and Hwy. 51, near the Courthouse in Wickliffe.


 SCHEDULE

Location:  Wickliffe City Park,   just off Highway 121 and Highway 51.
Tuesday, Sept. 8:  Final Harvest Festival Committee Meeting 
Thursday, September 10:  Vendors Meeting, spaces marked off.
Vendors begin checking in, meet w/Wayne Hargrove,  at Park,    
 "The Big Tent goes UP!"  , Inflatables up and going!

Friday, September 11

All Day:  Vendors Continue to Set Up 

4:00  Main Stage, Music by "The Little Band"
5:00 PM Festival Begins, Lodge: Bar-b-q, other food available

6:30 PM    Main Stage:   Official Opening of 2009 Wickliffe Harvest Festival -- Announcement of Grand Marshall, 2009 Parade

Special Recognition and Presentation of Awards to Community Volunteers who Aided our Citizens during Ice Storm 2009!

7:00 PM Main Stage:  Variety Show, produced by Renee Doublin

7:30  Salute to our Heroes on the 8th Anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001

Salute to our Veterans and our Military, Police, Fire, and First Responders

8:30 PM    Karaoke Show with John Summers

Saturday, September 12

8:30 AM Formation for Harvest Festival Parade , at Wickliffe City Hall, Court St. and Third St.  , Led by  Ballard Memorial High School Band.
9:00 AM Parade begins, runs all through downtown and ends up at the Park.  Ballard Band invited to play after parade in park.
11:00 AM  Baby Show and Little Miss and Master  Contest
     On the main stage in the Park. 
12 Noon  Political Speaking, Main Stage, Wickliffe City Park.
12 Noon        Sign Up for Mud Bogs ATV Event, Wickliffe Riverfront

1:00 PM MUD BOGS!  ATV “Mud Bogs”, All Terrain Vehicles, Utility Vehicles and Truck Drags at the Wickliffe Riverfront, on the "Mighty Muddy Mississippi!"


1 - 5:00 PM Main Stage:  Open Mike "Wickliffe's Got Talent!"

6:00 PM Mid South Fair Talent Show, Jr. Division
7:00 PM Mid South Fair Talent Show, Sr. Division
8:30 PM Band:  On Side Stage  Nite Flyte, Country and Rock

Sunday, Sept. 13

12 Noon, Lodge Sunday Dinner After Church

12:30 -   Gospel Sing, featuring "The Pullen Family", The Gloryroad Travelers" and many other local gospel singers, groups, and churches.

THROUGH-OUT THE WEEKEND
    
     There are many other activities and games for the kids the entire weekend, including “inflatables” , hayrides all through the festival, bingo, and vendors with all sorts of interesting merchandise scattered all over the park!  Local merchants all over the area donate nice prices and you might win something at the Lodge’s “Merchants’ Raffle.”    Admission is free and there’s plenty of parking. 

Come enjoy a community festival with a “special flavor” where the Ohio meets the Mississippi . . . at Wickliffe, Kentucky!
